About

“Pitch Per-Fact” (PPF) is a National Student Pitch Competition organized by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. We are an academic speaking-based competition that challenges undergraduate students to present their research in a 3-minute presentation.PPF facilitates young Indonesian talents and intellectuals to go global. The students’ inventions, discoveries, research, development, and communication are presented in this competition.
We ensure that the best performers are those who can make impactful and beneficial contributions to society through their research. Therefore, it is crucial for all applicants to demonstrate a great presentation that can easily be comprehended by the general public and accepted by scholars. Presenting your research and innovation in that manner is believed to be your golden ticket to getting some international recognition.

Requirements

  • Participant of the competition is an individual undergraduate students (from any fields) of universities/polytechnics in Indonesia are eligible to participate in "Pitch Per-Fact": Indonesian Student Pitch Competition 2022.
  • Participants can showcase their literature and/or research-based topic in any fields using English only. The ideas must be well-referenced and companied with an academic integrity statement that the work is original and does not contain plagiarism.
  • Participants must present their ideas within 3 minutes and submit their YouTube link of presentation video into Pitch Per-Fact online video submission form.
  • An abstract between 200-250 words must be submitted, consisting of the background of the study, the purpose, research methodology, main findings/results (if applicable), and conclusion.

    Vina Adriany
    Vina Adriany is a Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education and a Head for Centre of Gender and Childhood Studies, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. She is currently a Director of Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization, Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP). Her research focuses on the issues of gender and social justice in early childhood education (ECE), the construction of children and childhood in marginal communities, and the impact of neoliberalism in ECE. Her research mainly adopts theories that include feminist poststructuralism and postcolonialism. She is currently a c-editor at Pedagogy, Culture, and Society journal, Routledge. She is also an editorial board member of Policy Futures in Education, SAGE; International Journal of Early Years Education, Routledge; Global Childhood Studies, SAGE; dan Children and Society, Willey. She was a guest editor for Policy Futures in Education for “Neoliberal policies and practices of early childhood education in Asia”. She was also a guest editor for the Journal of Pedagogy for “Decolonialisation of Early Childhood Education”. She is currently editing a special issue of “Indonesian Perspectives of Early Childhood Education” for Policy Futures in Education Journal.

    Pande Made Wisnu
    In 2020, Pande Made Wisnu Tirtayasa earned the Doctor of Philosophy in Kidney Transplant at Newcastle University, the UK. He is now a lecturer at Udayana University, Bali, in the Department of Urology. Also, he is an academic and clinical staff at Udayana University Teaching Hospital, Bali. He has published many scientific articles and journals over the past 10 years. He has also been involved in many courses and workshops including a Pediatric urology course in 2017 in Manchester the UK, a course on clinical kidney and pancreas transplantation at Leiden University in 2021, and Anastomosis and Microsurgery Vascular Reconstruction in Kidney Transplantation workshop in Jakarta in 2022.

    Mika Rizki Puspaningrum
    Mika Rizki Puspaningrum is currently an active lecturer in Geological Engineering at ITB, Bandung. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in the School of Earth and Environmental Science at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Her specializations include Vertebrate Paleontology, Paleoenvironment, and Quarternary Geology. Her significant contributions to society include Education on Climate Change for Kids in 2019 and the organizing team of Geopark Tasikmalaya-Pangandaran in 2020. She has published numerous articles over the past 10 years. She was also granted the GHR von Koenigswald Fellowship, Daimler and Benz Foundation, Germany in 2019.

    Agus Rusdiana
    Agus Rusdiana is a Professor at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. He received his doctoral degree from Chukyo University, Japan, majoring in Sports Biomechanics. He was appointed as the speaker at several international conferences such as International Webinar: International Conference on 2020 Biomechanics in Sports in Malaysia and Virtual International Conference of Physical Education 2020 and Sports Science in Japan. He also achieved first place at Inovasi Bidang Non-Kependidikan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in 2021.

    Ika Damayanti
    Ika Lestari Damayanti is an Associate Professor in Department of English Education at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. She earned her Master’s degree from University of Warwick UK and her Doctorate degree from University of Wollongong Australia. She has conducted extensive research and workshops on EFL methodology, genre pedagogy, literacy and storytelling. In recent years, she has been a speaker at international conferences and events such as TEDxUWollongong, IATEFL, Asia TEFL, and Australian Systemic Functional Linguistics Association. She won the first winner of 3MT competition in 2016 at the University of Wollongong and People's Choice Award at the 2016 Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.

    Rudi Hendra
    Rudi Hendra is a lecturer in the Chemistry Department at Universitas Riau. He received his postdoctoral degree from the University of California, San Diego, USA. He also gained numerous academic achievements. He was awarded the RACI Young Chemists Encouragement Awards 2014 from the University of Wollongong, Australia, Examiners’ Commendation for Outstanding Thesis in 2017, and the best scientific journal publication award from LPDP, to name a few. Besides achieving many academic awards, he has devoted himself to some organizational activities such as the American Chemistry Society and Perhimpunan Biokimia dan Biomolekuler Indonesia.

    Ardian Wahyu Setiawan
    Ardian Wahyu Setiawan is a faculty member at the English Department, State Polytechnic of Malang. He is also a professional language editor at Prosemantic.com. Ardian has been a speaker for various workshops on scientific writing and the development of students’ study skills at many higher education institutions, both in Indonesia and in other countries. He has presented at international conferences as an invited speaker. He obtained his Master of Education (TESOL) from Monash University, Melbourne, and a Doctor of Education from the University of Adelaide, South Australia. Ardian’s research interests are English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, corpus linguistics and lexicography, professional identity, and technology-mediated language learning.
